About Course

Our Dementia Patient Care Course is being prepared for you.  Please do not register for this course.

The Journey

Do you have what it takes to be an excellent caregiver? You need to have a passion for helping others and enjoy seeing another person heal, feel comfort and enjoy life again. Most importantly, you should not expect to be rewarded immediately for your good work. Instead, simply be happy to help your client and take joy in the fact that you are making his/her life easier.  Rewards are always given by the Universe but only at the right time. Rewards are not simply financial gains but also include the satisfaction of making the world a better place by performing your duties with a willing and happy heart.

You must have empathy, patience, diligence, endurance, discipline, and respect. These are the attributes that are synonymous with the word “caregiver” or “nurse.”

In this course, you will learn crucial skills of caregiving, adapt your attitude to that of a willing servant and learn that life is a circle. Nothing you do will go unseen even if you think otherwise. Remember that the journey you take as a nurse is as challenging as it is rewarding.

I have compiled this course with many essential factors in mind.

I hope you will enjoy the process and love applying the insights that this course will offer you.

Bon Voyage and happy learning

Please complete the questions as they are intended to help you.

Why is Dementia Care Specialized?

Dementia is a disease which is chronic (ongoing) and which affects the brain and cannot be cured. Depending on the type of dementia it will affect the way the person thinks, functions and interacts with those around them.

There are studies being done by professionals to try and find a way of preventing this debilitating disease. Every 3.2 seconds a person somewhere in the world is diagnosed with dementia.

It takes a special caregiver with patience that is never ending, compassion, empathy, understanding, experience, knowledge of dementia, and most of all endurance and never losing your temper with the patient, ever.

The approach to this disease is very different to any other as the brain is dying and understanding this is so important because it cannot be prevented. We can only try and make life a little easier by being totally understanding of it and approaching it from a point of view of uniqueness that is in a class of its own.

Are you ready for the challenge?

This journey is one that you will never forget. Take my hand and walk it with me and I will help you to understand the complexities of this specialized disease.
